Who Is Jesus?

The world dates its calendars by His birth, and by His name millions curse and millions pray. Over two thousand years and still going, Jesus remains the most prominent and influential person in history. All this from the son of a carpenter without earthly title and riches, and whose public ministry spanned a little over three years. The huge contrast between Jesus’ humble life and impact on the world which transcends generations, cultures and creeds, is nothing short of miraculous.
The message of hope found in Jesus is called the “Gospel”, which means “Good News”, has transformed countless lives. Even today, through Jesus’ love we find victory over sin, restoration for the lost, a shelter to the homeless, a hiding place for the abused, and an anchor in our storms.
It’s interesting to note that the entire bible can be summed up in 3 words – Jesus is Lord. You too can share in this hope. Whoever you are, and wherever you’ve been, nothing disqualifies you from the love of God.

“Could it be that there’s a God with a love so deep that He gave His only Son for you?”

    Who Is Jesus To You?

For everyone who desires to follow Jesus, the first step is to recognize who Jesus should be to you. In Matthew 16, Jesus is speaking with His disciples and he asks them “Who do you say I am?” A number of answers are provided, but one of them gets it right. He states “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus affirms him and tells him “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.”
The God-revealed answer is that Jesus is the promised Messiah, the literal Son of the Supreme Being of all the universe. Of course, He is a great deal more than this, but these two facts are the most foundational to our spiritual understanding of this wonderful Being. They give us the basis of His relationship to us and our future, as well as His relationship to Deity, fixing Him as the bridge between man and God.

    Encountering Jesus

Maybe you’re feeling lost in a world of hardship and pain. Maybe you’re seeking answers to life’s BIG questions. Or maybe you’ve been prompted by a family member or friend to dig deeper. Whatever your reasons, finding God usually starts with a question, either out of sheer curiosity, or a seeking heart for the truth no matter what the cost.
Jesus said, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8)
